'Rustig' the Afrikaans word for tranquil is the perfect description for the three beautiful hiking trails that explore this part of the Magaliesberg mountains. These scenic hikes wind through the varied environments from the Southern side of the mountains, starting in the lowlands, climbing through indigenous woodland before gaining the escarpment above the huge cliffs. All of the trails are circular and start/ finish at GoVertical.
Well maintained and clearly marked, we invite you to explore this protected 'Green zone' on the border of the North West Province and Gauteng. The hiking trails vary in length from 5 km - 10 km and you are welcome to hike them by your selves. Alternatively, join one of our guided hikes where our well informed mountain guides will be able to weave the ancient geology, unique plant life, curious creatures and colourful history into a vivid tapestry that is the Magaliesberg.
